Baby Arm

Background

Baby Arm was a term used by all Ticket hosts from the mid 90s until ultimately tapering off in the early 2000s. It became sort of an empty "proclamation" as a greeting, or a way to ambiguously end a call, causing a chuckle for those "in the know".

The term stems (possibly) from a hypothetical posed by Gordon Keith, to Corby Davidson (franchise yuk monkeys), on former Saturday show, "The Rant". Gordon asked Corby:"would you rather have a lobster claw, or BABY ARM?"

The term also may have stemmed from a conversation from the pair, consisting of the subject of Gordon's grandfather, having lost his arm in WW 2. During the conversation, Corby responded :"aaaah the BIG ONE!"...(referring to WW2), but Gordon responded:.."uh no, both arms were the same size!"..."it's not like one was a BABY ARM!!"

Dan's Song

Dan McDowell sung a song in 2010 about Baby Arm to the tune of "Candy Man" made famous by Sammy Davis, Jr.

Lyrics

What can be a greeting? ('what can be a greeting) Or it can mean goodbye. (or it can mean goodbye)
It makes you turn your head, or even blink both of your eyes.
The baby arm... (the baby arm)
The baby arm can. (the baby arm can)
The baby arm can 'cause it's here to bring some love and make the world feel good. (make the world feel good)
Who can give a high-five (who can give a high five), but cannot make a fist? (but cannot make a fist)
Who can wear a Mickey Mouse watch on his little wrist?
The baby arm...
The baby arm can.
The baby arm can 'cause he's here to spread some love and make the world feel good. (make the world feel good)
(The baby arm is small, kinda like a doll. So be careful not to nick it.)
Protestors know where to picket...exclusively on The Ticket.
Who can look giant (who can look giant), next to a toothpick? (next to a toothpick)
Who has been a nickname for Liam Neeson's stick?
The baby arm...
The baby arm can.
The baby arm can 'cause he's here to spread some love and make the world feel good. (make the world feel good)

The baby arm, the baby arm.
Oh, how I love you baby arm.

Notes

In response to Lee Corso's spat with BaD Radio, Ticket fans can be seen holding signs bearing the words "Lee Corso Has A Baby Arm" at his TV appearances with ESPN. The relation of Lee Corso to the Baby Arm schtick is unknown.
